Ed Bearss is, without question, the most informative, entertaining and prolific battlefield tour guide. Spending a day with Ed Bearss insures that you’ll learn a great deal about the Blue & the Gray, and it will be a lasting memory for you. For many years, Ed Bearss was the historian at the Vicksburg National Military Park. He subsequently became the Chief Historian of the National Park Service until his retirement. He has authored countless articles dealing with a variety of Civil War topics. His three volume history of the siege of Vicksburg is a model campaign study. His most recent book, “Fields of Honor”, is a Bearss eye view of the Civil War.

Parker Hills has conducted dozens of civilian tours of battlefields for non-profit organizations involved in battlefield preservation, and is a regular speaker at Civil War Roundtables, battlefield preservation groups, civic clubs and seminars. Upon his retirement as Brigadier General in 2001, he established Battle Focus. He is a graduate of the U.S. Army War College; and is the author of “A Study in Warfighting: Nathan Bedford Forrest and the Battle of Brice's Crossroads” and co-author of Vicksburg Campaign Driving Tour Guide.

Robert Miller has taught Church History in the Deacon & Lay Ministry Formation programs of the Chicago Archdiocese. From 2003-2006, he held official positions in the Civil War Round Table of Chicago, (the founding group of the “Round Table” movement), culminating in helping lead two battlefield tours, and becoming President of that group in 2005-06. From January – June 2006, Fr. Bob took a sabbatical at Notre Dame University, taking courses in spirituality and, fulfilling a long-held dream, completed his sixth book, entitled ”Both Prayed to the Same God’ – Religion and Faith in the American Civil War”. He continues to travel in speaking and promoting the topic of Civil War religion and has authored six books, as well as numerous articles.
